Free Forum Friday August 12th Edition

Well, what a week if you’re a stockbroker. Wall Street was like a rollercoaster where the governor had been disabled and the speed was in danger of running off the rails. Much of this as a result of Standard and Poor’s credit downgrade but some of it from a report of decreased unemployment claims out yesterday. The Dow lost and gained over 400 points each day this week.

Also, the Iowa battle begins with the debates last night and the Ames straw poll on Saturday. All the candidates are stumping hard. A few have met some resistance. Romney was heckled at an event. Rick Perry is expected to formally announce his candidacy this Saturday and, oh, and Sarah Palin showed up in her bus to grab as much spot light even though she’s not running. There will be more details on Saturday.

Mr. Universe would like to apologize for the strong language and sharing of opinions not necessarily representative of this blog in the most recent post and also the recent unpredictability of the regular features on the site. There were conflicts with a trade show deadline and some personal issues going on recently. Both were unavoidable. Thanks for your patience. Oh, and welcome to article number 500.

Free Forum Fridays are an open discussion where commenters are invited to bring up topics that may not have been covered in the previous week. Got something on your mind? Throw your opinion out there.
