The Republican primary is all the rage these days, but there are other things going on in the world.
President Obama snubbed the Republicans by nominating Richard Cordray to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau despite the Republicans utilizing the parlour trick of keeping congress in session Pro Forma even though congress was away for the holidays. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. The obstruction should reach critical mass soon.
The violence is ratcheting up in Iraq now that the US is no longer policing the nation. To be expected? Maybe.
The President announced a new, leaner defense budget. We’re making butter instead of guns for awhile until the economy is on the mend.
Speaking of which, job growth is on the rise (unemployment dropped again to 8.5%), stock market is up, manufacturing looks to be making a comeback. Happy days are here again?
